The directions posted below are the most direct route to The Lodges at Elkmont.  Please note that if searching for directions online or via GPS may send you on an alternate route.

From Raleigh-Durham/Greensboro
Take I-40W to Winston-Salem NC. Merge on US 421-N toward Wilkesboro/ Yadkinville/Boone via Exit 188 for 80 miles. Turn left on NC-105 EXT/US-221, and follow NC-105 for approximately 13 miles. Turn right on NC-184-N, and follow it for four miles into Banner Elk. Then turn right on Hwy 194. Follow this road for 1.5 miles. The Lodges at Elkmont are on the left.

From Charlotte
Follow I-85S to Gastonia NC. Merge on US-321N toward Lincolnton/Hickory via Exit 17. Turn left on N Chester St/321-N, and follow to Boone NC for 78 miles. Turn left on NC-105-S, and follow for approximately 13 miles. Turn right onto NC-184-N, and follow it for four miles to Banner Elk. Then turn right on Hwy 194. Follow this road for 1.5 miles. The Lodges at Elkmont are on the left.
